November 2012 – The Chairman and CEO of PEOPLECERT, Mr. Byron Nicolaides, has been re-elected at the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS) and will hold the position of Honorary Treasurer for the next term. The unanimous decision was announced during the 49th CEPIS Council meeting that was held in Brussels yesterday.
Established in 1989, CEPIS is the representative body of national informatics associations throughout Europe, aiming to promote the development of IT Skills in Europe. CEPIS today represents over 300,000 ICT and informatics professionals in 32 countries. CEPIS is responsible for the highly successful ECDL and EUCIP programmes and produces a range of research and publications in the area of skills.
The re-election of Mr. Byron Nicolaides is not only a personal success but also demonstrates PEOPLECERT’s commitment to the goals of CEPIS and its active contribution to European initiatives that aim to further strengthen the value of Information Technology in Europe.
