PeopleCert’s Scholarship Programme: ‘Honouring our distinguished teachers from Constantinople’
In 2023, we launched PeopleCert’s Scholarship Programme, ‘Honouring our teachers from Constantinople,’ in loving memory of our distinguished teachers from the Diaspora.
This initiative was created in collaboration with the Ecumenical Federation of Constantinopolitans with the aim of supporting the diaspora’s most precious asset – its youth – by awarding scholarships to several talented students from Constantinople, Imbros, and Tenedos, to help them pursue postgraduate and doctoral studies at any institution worldwide. It is also a tribute to our esteemed teachers who will forever be remembered for their lasting impact on the entire community.
Our special ‘Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’ prize, created with the kind permission of His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, is awarded by PeopleCert’s evaluation committee each year, to a prominent Constantinopolitan, for his significant and long-lasting contribution to the Diaspora.
The evaluation committee responsible for awarding the scholarships is composed of:
-
President: George Doukidis, Professor of Economics at the University of Athens
-
Member: Nikolaos Ouzounoglou, Professor Emeritus at the National Technical University of Athens, and President of The Ecumenical Federation of Constantinopolitans
-
Member: Andreas Robopoulos, Journalist and Editor of Constantinople’s ‘ΗΧΩ’ newspaper
-
Member: Seraphim Konstandinidis, Journalist
-
Member: Eleni Nicolaides, Chief Corporate Development Officer, PeopleCert
