Can I use the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Reference Document during the exam?
Yes. The IASSC Lean Six Sigma Reference Document, which contains formulas and tables that you may need during the exam, is provided electronically within the exam platform.
You can access it throughout your exam and also have the option to print it at the start of the session. You are not permitted to bring a pre-printed copy with you.
Can I keep notes during the exam?
Yes. A notepad functionality is available for IASSC exams. During the exam, select the “Notes” button within the interface to make notes while working through complex questions or calculations.
Can I use a calculator during the exam?
Yes. Calculators are permitted for the IASSC Lean Six Sigma exams.
For online-proctored exams, a virtual calculator is available within the Web Based Driver exam environment, so you do not need to bring or use a physical calculator.
Where a physical calculator is permitted, you may use a standard or scientific non-programmable calculator. Programmable and graphing calculators, such as the TI-83, TI-84, Casio FX9750 or FX5800P, are not permitted.
When will I receive my exam results?
We announce final results within 2 business days after the candidate’s answers are officially submitted to us by the exam supervisor. If you have received an email from PeopleCert informing you that there are pending actions on your side, please make sure that you complete them for the exam results to be issued.
Note that your Official Results will not be released if there is information missing from your profile.

The Black Belt includes the Green Belt subject areas as well as more advanced topics, particularly in the Improve phase, such as Designed Experiments, Full Factorial Experiments, and Fractional Factorial Experiments. The Black Belt exam targets cognitive proficiency up to the Create level.
As a result, each belt represents a progressively broader and more advanced level of Lean Six Sigma knowledge and proficiency.
