UICT is a premier government tertiary institution operating under the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance in Uganda. Operated & managed by Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), it focuses on providing ICT education and training. Located at Plot 19-21 Port Bell Road, Nakawa, Kampala, the Institute was founded in 2000 by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), the Government regulatory body of the communications sector. UICT is the only Government institution specializing in skills-based middle-level ICT training and it offers practical-oriented ICT training at certificate and diploma levels as an alternative to universities and other tertiary institutions.
